2009年復活節假期去了雲南旅遊‧聽說「雲南」的意思是「彩雲之南」，很有世外意境。
I went to Yunnan, China in the last Easter Holiday 2009. “Yunnan” literally means the south of colourful clouds. Suggestive of things from another world.
▼ 選了雲南的旅遊熱門城市麗江作為基地。麗江地理上大致可分為有八百多年歷史的古城，和數十年前才開發的新城。入住位於新城的麗江大港旺寶國際飯店，此飯店規模及級數僅次於麗江悅榕莊Banyan Tree。下圖是麗江旺寶的大堂。
I chose LiJiang as my base for this trip. LiJiang is divided into two parts: an eight hundred years Old Town and the New Town. LiJiang Treasure Harbour International Hotel was my crash pad. Its scale and rating are only secondary to LiJiang Banyan Tree.
▼ 古城晚上遊人多，由過百年歴史改裝的酒吧、的士高播放嘈吵音樂，不適合我這個幾十歲的人。麗江旺寶位處新城，那裡反而比較清靜。該酒店建築是低密度設計，佔地廣，由東翼步行到西翼，大大話話都要幾分鐘。房間很寬倘舒適，假假地都是五星級，幾豪華。下圖是酒店的室內庭園。
LiJiang Old Town is heaving busy and noisy at night. Bars and discos converted from centuries-old-houses are infested with blasting music, which is certainly not my cup of tea. LiJiang Treasure Harbour International Hotel is situated in the New Town, which enjoys more quiet and peace. The Hotel is enormous, stretching a few minutes walk from one end of the contruction to the other. The room was comfortably big and luxurious. Photo below shows an an indoor garden.

The Old Town lies on a small hill. Shouldering laundered towels, this man slowly climbed the steps. His destination was probably the hotels at the hill top.

▼ 古城山上的茶座，付兩塊錢入內有茶水及洗手間供應，最重要是茶座佔盡優勢，古城風光盡覧無遺。
At the price of RMB $2, you can gain access to the terrace of a cafe at the hill top. At this vantage point, you can have panaromic views of the Old Town. What’s written on the wall is a somewhat tackily romantic poem: “What’s most valuable in LiJiang is Sunshine. What’s most worthless in LiJiang is time. What’s most precious in LiJiang is love.”

When the night fell, there came a special air in a restaurant building in the Old Town. Its looks outperformed the food it offered a great deal.
